AI Usage and Disclaimer Policy
How Testlaa uses AI, limitations of automated outputs, and user responsibilities.
Last updated: 2026-05-24
1. Scope
This AI Usage and Disclaimer Policy ("AI Policy") applies to features of Testlaa that use machine learning, large language models, automated scoring assistance, recommendation systems, or similar technologies (collectively, "AI Features").
AI Features may include, without limitation: post-exam study plan generation, skill/topic mapping, suggested learning paths, automated feedback drafts, analytics summaries, and content assistance tools made available now or in the future.
2. Assistive nature of AI outputs
AI Features are designed to assist institutions, mentors, and students. They do not replace instructors, official curriculum, human grading where human review is required, or professional career, legal, medical, or mental health advice.
All AI-generated content should be reviewed by qualified humans before being relied upon for high-stakes academic, employment, or compliance decisions unless an institution explicitly adopts otherwise under its own governance policies.
3. Accuracy and limitation disclaimers
AI outputs may be incorrect, incomplete, biased, outdated, or inappropriate for a specific context. Models may "hallucinate" facts, code, citations, or explanations that appear plausible but are wrong.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM LIABILITY FOR DECISIONS MADE SOLELY ON THE BASIS OF AI OUTPUTS WITHOUT APPROPRIATE HUMAN REVIEW.
- Verify critical facts, code samples, formulas, and citations before teaching or assessment use.
- Do not treat AI study plans as guaranteed pathways to employment or examination success.
- Report harmful or clearly incorrect outputs to your institution and to support@testlaa.com.
4. Inputs, outputs, and institutional control
When you submit prompts, exam responses, comments, or other content to AI Features, that content may be processed to generate outputs visible to authorised users within your institution's environment.
Institutions control whether and how AI Features are enabled for their organisation. Configuration, retention, and review workflows may vary by subscription and contract.
5. Model training and third-party providers
We may use third-party AI infrastructure providers. We configure such providers to support institutional confidentiality requirements and contract terms. We do not use identifiable student exam responses to train public general-purpose models unless explicitly disclosed and permitted under a separate agreement and institutional opt-in configuration.
Aggregated and de-identified usage metrics may be used to improve reliability, safety, and performance of the Service.
6. Prohibited uses of AI Features
Users must not use AI Features to:
- Generate cheating materials, hidden prompts, or methods to bypass exam integrity controls.
- Produce unlawful, harassing, or discriminatory content.
- Impersonate real individuals or fabricate credentials.
- Process special category personal data without lawful basis and institutional approval.
- Attempt to extract underlying model weights, system prompts, or security configurations.
7. Exam integrity and proctoring
Unless explicitly allowed by an exam configuration, students must not use external AI tools during proctored or closed-book assessments. Institutions define permitted resources per exam.
Automated proctoring or anomaly signals, where enabled, are indicative only and require human review before disciplinary action.
8. Intellectual property
Subject to underlying rights in user inputs and third-party materials, institutions and users retain responsibility for ensuring AI-assisted content does not infringe copyrights or licences. AI-generated suggestions may resemble publicly available materials; human review is required before publication or redistribution.
9. Changes to AI Features
We may modify, replace, or discontinue models and AI Features as technology evolves. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes affecting institution-configured workflows where practicable.
